JADE BAMBOO BENCH

This entry way upcycled bench combines classic details with pastel upholstery fabric to create a piece that stands out wherever you add it. Made from solid bamboo, it works perfectly as an extra seat in your living room or hallway and as a shoe rack. 

I have been finding these bamboo hallway seats/shoe racks tossed on the streets in Sydney quite a lot recently. They have been popping out, which is good for me but not for the environment. I have acquired a few of these by purchasing too. 

For this particular bench seat, I cleaned ans retouched the bamboo frame. The upholstered top was entirely redone(new foam layers and dacron). I removed the old fabric cover which I replaced with a new fabric.

  The fabric upholstered bench cover is by an Australian brand No Chintz. Their fabrics are woven with natural fibres, and they only use AZO-free vat dyes. Read more about what AZO dyes are and do. The majority of their materials are produced in Kerala, India, where the humid climate conditions give a particular tautness and strength to the yarn, setting it apart from cotton grown in other parts of the country. Started in 1994 by Chrissie Jeffery, No Chintz now has four stores in NSW, Australia.

• Filling: Dacron (polyester batting). Australia Made High-Density Foam with a 5-year warranty.

• Assembly: Yes, legs just need to be screwed in.
